UK’s hottest club heads out on it’s second nationwide tour with three of the worlds freshest indie bands
Hopscotch powered by Utilita is the UK’s hottest club night and after a successful first tour last autumn, it will be heading out on tour across the nation for a second time. November 2018 will see three of the most exciting bands from the world of UK indie head out across the country as Hopscotch takes to the road. The 6 date tour is the brain child of Jack Saunders from Radio 1 & MTV and features a host of home grown talent in Kawala, Apre and Sun Silva.
Kawala started their musical journey while studying in Leeds and Jim (vocals) and Dan (acoustic guitar, vocals) quickly developed their distinctive sound. Deriving from their joint love of close vocal harmony, and rhythmic finger-style acoustic guitar, the pair started writing songs inspired by the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club and Half Moon Run.
After breaks on platforms such as Mahogany sessions as an acoustic indie-folk act, they quickly moved back to London with aim of expanding their sound. Now signed to Mahogany Records and backed by a full band of Ben (drums), Reeve (bass) and Dan Lee (electric guitar).
Through 2018 KAWALA have started making waves in the live scene off the back of the release of the debut D.I.L.Y.D EP, finding inspiration from a range of musical styles. Their sound has developed through the use of afrobeat-esque drums, atmospheric electric hooks and strong rhythmic bass, yet still maintaining the focus on the core two part vocal and acoustic.
