Edinburgh four-piece LaKyoto return with their second single Something About You
The rise of Edinburgh’s LaKyoto has been nothing short of impressive. Since announcing their arrival on the Scottish music scene they’ve received support from new music station, Amazing Radio, emerging artist collective, The Line of Best Fit and Channel Fours, Made In Chelsea. The quartet now return with another upbeat track that’s fast becoming the bands signature sound.
Marrying the atmospherics of eighties synth-pop with a vibrant punch similar to Everything Everything, LaKyoto have enjoyed a rapid rise following and subsequent wide spread success of their debut single. Their new release, Something About You, which drops September 28, features crushing synths, crisp beats and stunning lead vocals from frontman, Conor Joss.
LaKyoto are gradually constructing the kind of bold, self-assured aesthetic that makes this single their biggest to date. Having have caught the immediate interest of Edinburgh’s gig-going crowd, the band now continue to build on the mystery and excitement that’s been generated by their live shows.
The band’s electronic approach and admiration of the processes that surround it including stomping drums, pounding sub-bass and colossal melodies, has been supported by the likes of BBC Radio Scotland, Clash and the Scottish Sun. These accolades come with high expectations and their new single is guaranteed to increase their extremely bright future.
